There is no shortage of golf trips for women. There are retreats, clinics, wine weekends with a scramble attached, and beautiful itineraries that treat the round as one item on a list.

What was harder to find was the thing a lot of us actually wanted: a real tournament. A field. A format. Flights. A draw posted the night before. A leaderboard you check twice on the back nine. Prizes handed out in front of everyone.

The GIR Club was built to host exactly that — and then to put it somewhere worth flying to, with the spa, the cocktails and the long dinners that turn a field of strangers into a group chat.

We are not a travel agency. We don't sell itineraries and we don't resell someone else's package. We host the tournament, we choose the resort, and we run the week.

What we hold to

Four things that decide every call we make, from the course we pick to the way the field gets flighted.

Competition is the point, not the excuse

Every getaway is a scored tournament with a winner. The golf is not a backdrop for the trip; the trip is what surrounds the golf.

Every handicap has a place

Teams are flighted on combined handicap, so a 12 paired with a 28 is competing for something real. Nobody is making up the numbers at the back of the field.

Nobody arrives alone twice

We match solo players into teams, and every dinner is one long table. Women who book without a partner are the rule here, not the exception.

Expensive, never stuffy

Exceptional resorts, excellent golf, and absolutely none of the dress-code energy some of us grew up being corrected by.

Who's in
the field

There is no single GIR woman, which is the best thing about a well-flighted field.

  • The club competitor

    She plays in everything at home and wants a field that isn't the same twenty faces. She's here for the leaderboard.

  • The one who got good fast

    She picked the game up recently, took it seriously, and has never actually played in a tournament. This is her first.

  • The friend group with a standing tee time

    They enter as two teams, get drawn alongside other pairs, and go home with twice as many people to play with.

  • The solo traveler

    She books alone on purpose. By the welcome cocktails she knows four names, and by the closing dinner she's planning the next one.
