Plenty of trips will put you on a nice course with a tee time and a dinner reservation. That is a vacation. A GIR getaway is a tournament: a field of two-woman teams, a format, a draw posted the night before, a team scorecard in your hand and a leaderboard that moves all week.
We are not a travel agency and we don't sell itineraries. We host the tournament, and we choose the resort that makes the rest of it worth the flight.
Every GIR tournament is a team event. You and your partner post one score together, which means a bad hole is survivable and a good one is worth celebrating with someone.
Register on your own and we'll match you with a partner before you travel, based on how you play and what you tell us about yourself. Most of our women arrive this way.
Teams are flighted by combined handicap, so you're competing against pairs playing your golf. A first-timer and a scratch player can both win something.
Points from every tournament carry into the Order of Merit, so participate in as many as you can.
Play finishes in the afternoon. What happens after is the reason women rebook before they've unpacked.

Every woman who plays a GIR getaway is issued a Passport. Each tournament you finish earns a stamp, and stamps carry weight — earlier registration windows, special pricing on your next tournament, and an invitation to the tournaments we don't announce publicly.
It is the closest thing we have to a membership, and the only way to earn it is to show up and play.
